On behalf of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish... Welcome!
You are an important member of the future of our parish. We hope you will be an active participant as we build that future together.

There are many opportunities for deeper involvement in our parish. The weekly bulletin and this website are the best source of information about the various parish activities and evolving ministries which you are most welcome to join.
Again, welcome and may God bless you as you continue your faith journey as a member of the Our Lady’s Parish Family.

Appreciation and Prayers,

 Fr. James DiPerri
and the entire Parish Staff

News!

Religious Education Teachers
We are registering children for 2009-2010 Religious Education.  Classes run from September to May.  Please see the Religious Education page for more information.  We are in need of teachers for our Religious Ed program in grades 4, 6 and 8. Please contact Sharon in the Parish Office if you are willing to share the gift of faith with our children.
Our Lady's School has changed its name to Our Lady's Academy.  See the news for more information.

The Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a blood drive and a prayer service.  Please see the Knight's page for more information.

Our Lady's Academy is looking for volunteer painters to make the walls of our facility look their best during July and August.  Please email Denise Moroney at finance@olca.org. for more information.
Pre-K News
Beginning September, 2009, we will provide half-day Pre-K from 8:00 to 11:00 am or from 11:30 to 2:30 in addition to our existing full day Pre-K program from 7:45 to 4:30.  Please contact the school office for more information or join us on our next tour.
The 1000 Club
We've recently started the 1000 Club again, an ongoing parish fundraiser. We had a great turnout for our first two drawings. Our next drawing is Sunday, July 19, at 12:30 pm in the School cafeteria. Please consider joining us at our monthly drawings for some fellowship, light refreshments, and a chance to win -- all while helping to support Our Lady's Parish.

For more information on upcoming drawings and how to join, please see our 1000 Club page.
Health Ministry News
The bulletin boards have been updated with information about West Nile virus and Lyme disease.  We will not have blood pressure checks during July and August.  We will resume them on September 19 and 20.  However, if you need your blood pressure checked, just see a nurse at Mass and ask.
Latin Classes at Our Lady's
Our Lady's Academy offers Latin classes to all sixth, seventh and eighth graders in September.  This class is Introductory Latin and it is extremely helpful for increasing students' English vocabulary, verbal skills, standardized test scores, reading comprehension and in learning other languages.  Please contact Hank Fleming if you would like to enroll at 781-899-1466.
Sanctuary Fund
We are proceeding with a few much needed improvements to the interior of our Church.  Thanks to the donated Sanctuary Funds to date, we have been able to buy better microphones and we will be relocating our Blessed Mother and our Tabernacle to the front of the church.  However we only have partial funds fro the new carpeting which Martin McCarthy from MAC Floors has sold us at a discount.  We thank those who have made a donation already. We request you consider donating to our sanctuary.
St. Vincent DePaul
Please contact St. Vincent De Paul if need help from our food pantry. All calls are confidential.  You may call the parish office or email us at stvincentdepaul@olca.org.  St. Vincent DePaul collects food on the 3rd Sunday of the month.  Items especially needed are peanut butter, jelly, mayonaise, tuna fish, toilet paper, spaghetti sauce, bath soap, dish soap, cereal and small snacks for childrens' lunches.  See our St. Vincent DePaul society page for more information.
Facility Rental
We are renting out rooms in our school building.  If you are interested, please read the
Rental Information and fill out the Rental Form and submit the form to Denise Moroney at finance@olca.org.
EFT
Please use Electronic Funds Transfer for your weekly and monthly contributions.  Please send the form to Sharon after filling it out.
